Sabith Khan
Sabith Khan (Program Director, MPPA) has recently traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico, conducting interviews in pueblos towards his book on remittances (to be published by Routledge Press). Oaxaca is an important source of migration to the U.S. and Canada, with over 50% of its men (and some women, in some towns) in the U.S. The state has a strategic impact on supply of labor and is also a significant source of remittances for Mexico. As such, the dynamics of flow of people and money are understudied and Sabith's research (with co-author Dr.Daisha Merritt) is likely to add to this discourse.
