Record breaking engagement

What draws 12,105 votes from 41 U.S. states and 58 countries on 6 continents? One of the School of Management's signature events, our annual New Venture Fair. After one week of public voting and professional judging by our volunteer judges, we held an awards announcement event on April 29th. A total of 28 projects by teams of Cal Lutheran students and 10 projects by teams of Oaks Christian High School students competed for over $15,000 in prize money. The winning teams, selected by judges and public votes are:

o  Best Booth: Medical Expert, Instasmile, Adoptimal, ParkRite, The Maven, EZ Media

o  Best Executive Summary: ParkRite

o  Best Brochure: Today We Shape The Future

o  Best Startups for Good: Today We Shape The Future, Yalla, Sage Start, BaseChow, ALL

o  Judges Choice: Adoptimal

o  People's Choice: TripleX, bikeCredible

Two of the winning projects -Yalla and Instasmile - will advance to the annual USC Venturing Summit where they will compete with startups from USC, UCLA, Loyola Marymount and other universities in Southern California. As in previous years, we held a special competition for Oaks Christian High School students. Among the 10 submitted projects, Pro Recovery Bars was awarded Best Startup, and Best Booth awards went to Koobri and Skateway. More information on all submitted projects is available from the NVF website. A huge word of thanks goes to Mike Panesis and Kristin Bell who completed this Herculean effort, and to supporters Susan Wood, Renee Rock, Dan Vo, and Dan Restuccio.
