CERF 2020 Latino GDP Report

Recently, our Center for Economic Research and Forecasting (CERF) released the 2020 Latino GDP Report at this year's (virtual) L'Attitude event, the largest event of its kind in the United States. Executive Director of CERF, Matthew Fienup, was interviewed by the CEO of the Dow Jones Corp and publisher of The Wall Street Journal, Almar Latour. Once again the report outlined some fascinating results regarding the contribution of the Latino population in the US. If the Latino GDP represented its own country, then it would be the 8th largest economy in the world, larger than, for instance Brazil or Italy, surpassed in GDP growth only by China and India. Most importantly, the study shows that the recent economic recovery from the pandemic is almost entirely attributed to the Latino population. Some data from the report were already cited by presidential candidate Joe Biden. Many thanks also go to Dan Hamilton, Director of Economics at CERF. The full report can be downloaded here, and a recap of day 1 at L'Attitude that also includes Matthew Fienup is available here.
